    Q: What is GCB Mobile?

    A:  GCB Mobile is a mobile app you can use to access your personal account information quickly from your phone.  Use GCB Mobile to securely:

    • Check your Greater Community Bank account balances
    • Pay your bills
    • Transfer money between your Greater Community Bank accounts
    • Deposit checks using the mobile deposit feature
    • Find Greater Community Bank  ATM and branch locations

    Q: Why should I use GCB Mobile?

    A: Convenience is everything and GCB Mobile allows you to bank on the go 24/7.  Have you ever been shopping and wondered if you have the funds to make a large purchase? Play it safe and check your account balance prior to purchase on your mobile device.  Forget to deposit a check? Use your mobile device and deposit your checks anytime or anywhere.

    Q: Is there any cost for GCB Mobile?

    A: The GCB mobile app is offered at no cost to our customers. Messaging and Data rates may apply so check with your mobile phone carrier for details on your mobile plan.

    Q: How can I get GCB Mobile?

    A:  You can download the app directly from the App StoreSM or Google Play™ by searching for Greater Community Bank.  You must be registered for GCB Online Banking as you will need your already established online banking username and password to log into GCB Mobile once downloaded.  You will also need GCB’s financial institution’s App Code to activate the app on your device.  You can find the App Code in the mobile banking section within online banking (My Devices > Add New Device).

    Q: Is GCB Mobile secure?

    A: To ensure the safety and privacy of your account information, there are multiple security features for the mobile app.

    • All transactions are encrypted
    • You must authenticate every interaction with GCB Mobile
    • No personal or financial information is stored on your phone

    Q: Can I use GCB Mobile on my tablet?

    A: GCB Mobile is currently available for smartphones only.

    Q: Why is the application asking permission to access some of my phone’s functions?

    A: In order to enable some of the features of GCB Mobile, the application may need to access the following on your mobile device:

    • Location services – GCB Mobile can return ATM/Branch search results that are relevant to your current location
    • Camera – You can use this feature with the mobile check deposit feature

    Q: What is Text Banking?

    A: It’s simple and easy!  GCB Text Banking makes it easy for you to check account information via text message, and find the nearest GCB ATM or branch in seconds. Once you’ve activated GCB Mobile, simply send a text message to 99588 using one of the short codes for GCB Mobile Banking: Message “BAL”, “HIST”, “HELP” or “STOP”. *

    Q: What is Online Banking Alerts?

    A: Need to know when your balance is getting low?  Simply sign up for Online Banking Alerts within online banking to have a text message sent to your phone.

    Q: I keep getting errors when I attempt to log into GCB Mobile.  What should I do?

    A: For iPhone® devices:

    • Go to the mobile banking section of GreaterCB.com’s online banking site and get the App Code (My Devices > Add New Device)
    • On your device, uninstall GCB Mobile
    • Re-download GCB Mobile from the App Store
    • Run GCB Mobile and re-register your application

    For Android™ devices:

    • Go to the mobile banking section of GreaterCB.com’s online banking site and get the App Code (My Devices > Add New Device)
    • On your device open Settings >:Apps.  (The menu name may vary depending on your device.)
    • From the list of applications, tap Greater Community Bank  / GCB Mobile
    • Tap "clear data" to remove all registration information
    • Run Greater Community Bank / GCB Mobile and re-register your application

    Q: How do I deactivate GCB Mobile?

    A: Simply sign in online banking and go to the mobile banking section.  Choose the "Stop using Mobile Banking" option next to the phone number you want to deactivate. For additional assistance, please contact Greater Community Bank at 706-295-9300.

      • Take a picture of the front and back of your check, following the on-screen instructions (make sure you sign it)
      • Select the checking account into which you want to make the deposit
      • Enter the check amount
      • Verify that everything on the screen is correct, then hit "Submit"
      • We'll confirm that the check has been received

    Educational Tips on Using Mobile Check Deposit
    • Before logging into the Mobile Deposit app, close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone.
    • Sign/Endorse the back of your check, and label it “For Deposit Only.”
    • When prompted for the amount, carefully enter the check amount to ensure it matches the amount written on your check.
    • Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
    • Keep the check within the view finder on the camera screen when capturing your photos.
      • Try not to get too much of the areas surrounding the check.
    • Take the photos of your check in a well-lit area.
    • Place the check on solid dark background before taking the photo of it.
    • Keep your phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photos.
    • Hold the camera as square to the check as possible to reduce corner to corner skew.
    • Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit.
    • No shadows across the check
    • All four corners are visible
    • Check is not blurry
    • The MICR line (numbers on the bottom of your check) is readable.
