Let's talk about Juneteenth.

Published: 06/19/2020

Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of the abolition of slavery in the United States. This 155-year-old holiday is celebrated annually on June 19th and, this year, it provides an opportunity to have an even greater impact in our community.

As many of you know, current events have strongly encouraged all of us to examine what we can do better and also acknowledge the many contributions that African Americans have made to our country.

Since our Bank's founding in 1996 we have cherished diversity among our Greater Community Bank team. This year, we have chosen to recognize Juneteenth by asking our staff to take time to reflect on the significance of this day, how the vestiges of inequality have not yet been fully erased, and how we must all work together to make that happen. It is our firm belief that we are only greater when we are together.

We encourage you to take a moment today to Reflect. Realize. Remember.
